Households running ducted air-con, a pool and a bore across large floorplans often need 10 kW or more — a size that costs around $5,500–$8,500 installed after the STC rebate and generates enough to cover heavy daytime demand. Many of these properties have three-phase power, and from 1 May 2026 Western Power’s higher 30 kVA connection allowance gives acreage owners real headroom to go large. Since exports above 5 kW are capped at 1.5 kW or 5%, the value lies in self-consumption and storage.
